Welcome to the official home of BUV Homebrew Club and the 2026 Nebraska Shootout competition site.

We’re excited to announce that planning is underway for the 2026 Nebraska Shootout, a BJCP-sanctioned homebrew competition hosted by BUV. This site will serve as the central hub for competition information, registration, and updates as we get closer to launch.

Competition Timeline (Subject to Final Confirmation)

• Competition & Registration Go-Live: April 1, 2026
  • Beer entries
  • Judge registration
  • Steward registration
• Registration Closes: July 11, 2026
• Entry Drop-Off Deadline: July 18, 2026

Entry Details

• Entry Fee: $10 per entry
• Packaging:
  • 12–16.9 oz bottles of any type (swing-top bottles are allowed)
  • Cans are also accepted
  • Raised lettering or markings are permitted as long as they do not identify the brewer
• Number of Bottles: Three bottles per entry to support Best of Show judging

Drop-Off & Shipping

Planned drop-off locations are currently being coordinated and will be announced soon. We anticipate locations in:

• Omaha
• Lincoln
• Possibly Grand Island

Shipping options may also be available once details are finalized.

Judges & Stewards

We’re incredibly grateful to the judges and stewards who make this competition possible. A formal Call for Judges will go out when registration opens on April 1, 2026. We are planning judge and steward gifts, food, and additional perks depending on sponsorship support.

Awards & Prizes

• Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category
• Best of Show awards are being planned for both beer and stewards
• Additional prizes and raffles may be added based on donations and sponsorships
